WRAP, which stands for Worldwide Responsible Accredited Production Principles and was established in 2000; It is an independent non-profit organization focused on promoting and certifying ethical production worldwide. It was established to supervise the compliance of clothing and shoe factories in the world with local laws and ethical rules and internationally accepted laws. WRAP also expresses your organization´s commitment to environmental and social ethical standards and expresses the production you have made responsibly. Responsible accredited production is the largest environmental certification program in existence worldwide, especially for manufacturers of products such as footwear, apparel and accessories. Support is provided by 25 international organizations, including the international ready-to-wear federation, which represents 36 national organizations and more than 150,000 organizations.
WRAP´s principles encompass the core standards of factory conditions, labor issues, and compliance with customs and the environment. These principles consist of 12 elements. With its 12 determined principles, the WRAP Program audits and approves reliable and healthy, humane and ethical production stages in the world.
The 12 main principles of WRAP are as follows; Compliance with Laws and Regulations, Forced Labor, Child Labour, Harassment and Abuse, Compensation, Hours of Work, Discrimination, Health and Safety, Freedom of Association and Collective Bargaining, Environment, Customs Compliance and Security.
WRAP Document Audit Process Scope
The WRAP certificate is issued as a result of successful inspections by authorized inspection organizations. Thanks to the audit and the certificate issued within the scope of WRAP, companies can gain international prestige and the number of customers of the company can increase.
A company within the scope of WRAP; It is audited within the framework of WRAP Principles, Country labor laws, OHS Regulations, Country constitution and International Labor Organization Principles, and the audit preparation process may take approximately 2 to 4 months depending on the company´s situation.
Organizations that will be audited within the scope of WRAP should pay attention to the following records and keep these records meticulously;
Keeping personnel records such as attendance records, payrolls
Keeping Occupational Health and Safety records such as building layout plans, business opening and working license, firefighter report, building license and building occupancy permit and number of fire cabinets
Keeping environmental records such as workplace environmental permit certificate, EIA out-of-scope report, environmental protection documents, waste declarations
Responsible for keeping other records such as recruitment and exit procedure, past audit records, internal and external contract supplier lists.
