Sedec (SMETA)
Sedex Members Ethical Trade Audit (SMETA) is one of the most widely used social compliance audit applications in the world. Approximately 20,000 SMETA audits are uploaded to the Sedex platform every year.
SMETA 6.1 is Sedex´s audit tool that covers all aspects of responsible business practice, covering the four pillars of Workforce, Health and Safety, Environment and Business Ethics.
SMETA audits are carried out in a semi-informed or unannounced manner according to customer demand. The inspection scope consists of two levels as 2 Pillar and 4 Pillar.
While 2 Pillar contains some environmental requirements, 4 Pillar environmental requirements and business ethics are examined more thoroughly.
